2002 was GREAT!
Thanks to all who participated, especially Kiara Wolf, Pat Richard, Dawn Miller, and of course, Mack.
Also, a special thanks to Don and Tracy Darue who donated $200 towards the Band BBQ. If you would like to donate towards this, please contact Don and Tracy at Darue@thegrid.net or Kiara Wolf at kiara_j@hotmail.com.
If you have any pictures from this year's event, please contact Kevin Freels at kevin@westies.com.
Also, there were many great suggestions about what we can do for the next and future Alumni get-togethers. Some included:
If you have any other suggestions (locations for Friday's banquet, other activities, fund-raier ideas for the scholarship, etc.), please let us know.
We're also going to work on the definitive list of alumni, and hope to have it complete within the next few months.
That's it, see you next year!!!!

I would like to plan a rehearsal for 4:30pm on Friday after the Marching Band rehearsal. It, of course, will be brief.
I thought that it could be really impressive to the new president, as well as everyone else, if we had a band the size of the current Wolf Pack Marching Band (130). In light of 9/11 we could add some impressive patriotic tunes (something we did four years ago). Maybe the alums would like to do pre-game only and sit in the stands.
As always, I will have music available (probably as early as September 10th). I could fax it to band alums quickly (we have a fax number in the band office now - (775) 327-5149, or by mail. Our opener for Homecoming is Entry of the Gladiators, a circus march that we are repeating from the half-time show on September 21st with the Circus, Circus Casino. Other tunes will be selected this week.
I don't know what time the "Parade of Lights" will begin on Friday (guessing sometime after 6:00pm). The Marching Band will probably meet and play at the bonfire. I will plan to join everybody at Mi Casa after the Parade.
I need to know who needs instruments ASAP. We will be able to provide baritones, tubas and percussion. That is about it! Let me know what we need. Also, flip folders are always an issue, as I never get all of them back. Could you tell the alums to bring their own folders, or would they be willing to purchase them if I buy them in advance??
Everything is going well with Grady. Melissa (past president of SAI) and Grady are going strong!! But I don't ask anything!!! He leaves for Northwestern next week (September 11th). He figured that would be a good day to travel!!
